Big curious eyes. Eight tiny feet. Welcome to your regal jumping spider's care corner—a little guide to helping your tiny companion feel at home.

🌿 Cozy Conditions

  • Temperature: Aim for approximately 75–79°F (24–26°C).
  • Humidity: Around 50–60% is a general starting range. Monitor with a hygrometer and maintain good cross-ventilation.
  • Water: Offer fine droplets on an enclosure wall. Adjust misting to measured conditions; never spray your spider directly or leave the enclosure soaked.
  • Light: Provide a regular day-and-night cycle. Keep the enclosure out of direct sunlight.
  • Heating: If supplemental heat is needed, use suitable thermostat-controlled equipment.
Spiderlings and adults have different needs. Follow the care instructions supplied with your individual spider, especially during molting.

🏡 Enclosure

Regal jumping spiders are active, curious explorers. They thrive in tall enclosures with good ventilation that give them room to climb, hunt, and retreat. Cross-flow airflow helps maintain healthy humidity without creating stagnant conditions. Decorate with cork bark, fake or dried plants, and anchor points for web retreats. Keep it cozy but not cramped—your regal will thank you with big personality.

🦗 Feeding

Regals are bold, enthusiastic hunters. Appropriate feeder insects (such as fruit flies for spiderlings, or appropriately sized crickets and roaches for juveniles and adults) offered at sizes no larger than the spider's abdomen work well. Feeding frequency and prey size vary by age and individual appetite—follow the specific guidance included with your spider. Remove uneaten prey after a few hours, and avoid feeding during a pre-molt phase when your spider may refuse food.

🌙 Molting

Molting is a vulnerable and important time. Signs include a sealed retreat, a darkened abdomen, loss of appetite, and reduced activity. During this period: do not disturb, do not feed, and do not mist directly into the enclosure. After a successful molt, wait until the spider is fully hardened (usually a few days) before offering food again. A fresh molt is a milestone—celebrate quietly from a respectful distance!
